There you have it. Does anyone own any of these or invest in them back in 1992?
I do remember Tuff Stuff, I had a copy of it from roughly that time period (maybe 1990 or 1991) with Jerry Rice on the cover. The prices.....ah what fools we were back then (well, and now too but at least not with respect to the value of Pro Set cards from the early 90s)!
ReplyDeleteIt was the wild west of sports card collecting. Anything and everything was selling.
DeleteThis post made my day. I purchased the 1991 Pro Set Arnold Palmer Award Hologram card in 2014 for $1.25 (free shipping) on eBay.
ReplyDeleteOh Wow. Hard to believe that it was going to so much...they made "tons" of the limited edition stuff. Success got the better of them. Great pickup!
DeleteAt least they weren’t asking QVC prices 😆
ReplyDeleteI know, right? I never did buy anything from QVC because I always felt that stuff was overpriced. Stuff was being sold left and right everywhere and people were buying it up. It be interesting to see if there was any writing back them about the inevitable collapse of the industry.
